Al’s focus is on his passion to help Australia decarbonise.
He has managed many complex and high tempo policy and strategy projects and brings experience in policy development, public-sector economic analysis, government strategic planning and organisational design. Al has worked extensively with climate change, agricultural, and environmental agencies in federal and state governments and with philanthropic organisations.

Influential work

  • Developed a public report on what it will take to achieve net zero in Australia, including priority actions and policies to complete before 2030
  • Developed an evaluation framework for the Australian Government in its role supporting regions through the net zero transition
  • Identified opportunities for a state government to provide greater value in agricultural industry, based on value chain analysis of select industries in agriculture, fisheries and forestry
  • Developed an investment strategy for where a not-for-profit agency could target funding and effort to help Australia achieve its 2030 decarbonisation goals
  • Developed policy options and streamlined coordination and delivery of marine functions within an Australian Government Department over eight months
  • Assessed a large superannuation provider’s readiness to undertake an AUD$100 million business transformation, designing and planned the operating model and developing a five-year transformation plan.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Al worked with boutique consulting firms in Canberra delivering strategy consulting for government clients. He holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of International Relations from The Australian National University and completed the Political Science Program at SciencesPo in France. Al is a Certified Professional in Agile Project and Delivery Management (ICP-APM).

In his spare time...

Al enjoys yoga, acoustic guitar, and the outdoors. One day he hopes to return to France to continue learning the language he is slowly forgetting.
