Roger’s rigorous analysis and curious mind deliver valuable results for clients.
He brings deep expertise in strategy, law reform, financial services and consumer behaviour. He is particularly interested in problems at the nexus of economics and law, having advised on the generational reshaping of the financial services industry that occurred after the Hayne Royal Commission. Roger has also applied behavioural economics interventions to improve consumer outcomes in the financial services industry through more effective regulation and process design.

Influential work

  • Managed the development of a strategic plan for a new Victorian Government agency
  • Conducted a functional review of a large portfolio of government entities to identify opportunities for improved governance and efficiency
  • Developed a strategy to improve linkages between vocational and higher education at a large Australian university
  • Developed a refreshed organisational structure at a large Australian Government agency
  • Reviewed the complaints handling function of a major insurer.

Outside of Nous

Prior to working at Nous, Roger worked at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) for over four years, most recently as a policy adviser in the Strategy Group. His work focused on major policy projects that affected large parts of ASIC’s regulated population, including those related to alternative dispute resolution.

Roger holds an Honours Degree of the Bachelor of Arts (Psychology, Politics and International Studies) from the University of Melbourne and is currently completing the final subjects of his Juris Doctor at Monash University.

In his spare time...

You might find Roger rock climbing, skiing or visiting family in the country. Otherwise, he supports local musicians or chases his energetic border collie around the park each morning.
