Expanding our footprint in northern Australia
Expanding our footprint in northern Australia
Nous is proud to announce that we are now operating out of two new locations in northern Australia. We have recently set up permanent bases in Broome and Townsville to allow us to work more frequently and closely with local communities on a wider range of projects.
We have a strong contingent of Nousers who have extensive experience working with communities in remote Australia. These Nousers; who include Emma White, Prins Ralston, Robert Griew, Rowan Gallagher and Gill Shaw; have worked on a broad range of initiatives in the north, including:
- building positive connections between resources companies and local Indigenous communities
- working with women and youth groups in the Kimberley Region
- advising governments on improving childcare services in remote areas and on introducing competition policy into service delivery in regional and remote Australia
- developing the national strategy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander blood-borne virus and sexually transmitted infections
- working with local government and education institutions on significant strategic projects.
We understand the challenges that communities in northern Australia face – geographic isolation, inequality, dislocation, multi-generational disadvantage and the reverberating consequences of failed policy. We have established our new regional bases so that we can fully leverage our experiences and the passion of our colleagues to build momentum and deliver positive influence for citizens of northern Australia.
