He brings a well-developed economic toolkit with experience applying quantitative and qualitative methods across a broad range of sectors and institutional settings. He has interest and expertise in environmental policy issues, having worked in Australia and abroad on water, energy and climate policy – including the associated structural transition and labour market issues.
Prior to joining Nous Andrew was a senior economist and head of desk in the OECD economics department, working on policy analysis and advice for countries including Germany, Canada, New Zealand and Denmark. Before this he was a research manager at the Productivity Commission, leading quantitative work on water, gas and labour markets and contributing to public inquiries on diverse topics including infrastructure access, automotive manufacturing, service exports and the economic effects of migration.
Andrew holds a Master of Commerce (economics) and First Class Honours degrees in economics and environmental engineering from the University of Melbourne.
Andrew enjoys getting outdoors with his wife and two young daughters – even more so when this involves surfing, skiing, playing tennis or golf.
