Angela has over five years’ experience practising law, including commercial, university (internal advice) and human rights law and at non-government organisations.

She leverages her broad experience to develop innovative solutions for complex problems, taking a considered and collaborative approach. Angela is passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and how these principles can be incorporated to create better outcomes.

Influential work

  • Managed internal human rights complaints and advised on policy and EDI considerations at the University of New Brunswick
  • Led training and professional development on EDI, human rights, equitable hiring practices and respectful working environment
  • Advised institutional clients and conducted legal due diligence on financing transactions in a range of contexts (e.g., mergers and acquisitions, real property and agriculture deals)
  • Developed recommendations and submissions to an Australian Federal Parliamentary Committee on reform to electoral funding legislation
  • Conducted research on company approaches to address modern slavery in the Pacific canned tuna sector.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Angela was a Case Resolution Advisor in the Human Rights and Positive Environment Office at the University of New Brunswick and a Banking and Finance Lawyer with Ashurst Australia. She also undertook secondments to Human Rights Law Centre and Credit Suisse and was a Project Researcher for the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre. Angela was also a finalist for Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in the 2018 Australian Women in Law Awards.

Angela holds Bachelors of Laws and Arts from the University of Sydney (including an exchange to McGill University) and is a Governance Committee Member of the Borden Family Resource Centre.

In her spare time...

Angela enjoys exploring trails in the Simcoe region with her dog in the warmer months and skiing during winter. She experiments with recipes and local produce from her weekly CSA farm baskets.
