Ashleigh has vast experience in strategic policy; service planning and design; research and consultation; and community engagement within the context of public policy, human services and social justice.

Specifically, she has worked within the fields of Indigenous affairs, disability, family and domestic violence, higher education, justice, mental health, and community development. One of her greatest strengths is to build effective and meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes for the community.

Influential work

  • Led development of state government budget submissions, resulting in investment of $124.1 million for new family and domestic violence, mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) services in Western Australia (WA)
  • Managed the co-design processes for youth mental health and AOD election commitments for the Mental Health Commission 
  • Managed the service model design for WA’s first Community Care Unit 
  • Co-delivered regional consultations across WA for Path to Safety – WA’s strategy to reduce family and domestic violence 2020-2030  
  • Supported the Expert Panel for Constitutional Recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples through nation-wide consultation planning and thematic analysis of consultation feedback.

Outside of Nous

Ashleigh has volunteered for the Kimberley Dental Team (KDT), a not-for-profit organisation that provides free dental care to Aboriginal children and families in the Kimberley, since its commencement in 2009. In 2022 she was invited to become a member of the KDT Steering Committee given her background in governance, program and service design and work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations.

Ashleigh enjoys reading, listening to music, spending time with friends and family and travelling to new places.
