He now undertakes diverse projects with federal government clients for Nous’ public policy and organisational performance and leadership practices. His leadership of diverse teams across intercultural education, interfaith relations, international affairs and multicultural community engagement has seen him recognised as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, New Colombo Plan Scholar, and Australian delegate for the Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program. Bayan has strong interests in climate change adaptation and sustainable development.
Before joining Nous Bayan worked as a Service Officer for the Australian Electoral Commission and volunteered as the People and Culture Director of Young Australians in International Affairs, a youth-led not-for-profit dedicated to inspiring and preparing the next generation of young Australians to navigate the Indo-Pacific century. While studying at university, he published articles promoting biodiversity conservation and wildlife protection for an environmental not-for-profit organisation and was President of the Baha’i Society.
Bayan holds a Master of Business Administration (international trade and development) from The University of Adelaide; and a Bachelor of Psychology, Bachelor of Arts (international relations and environmental studies) and a Bachelor of Letters (French) from Flinders University.
Bayan loves hiking, reading, traveling and learning languages. He lived in Asia for three years and speaks Persian, Chinese, French and some Indonesian. He enjoys playing European handball and serving the local community.
