Jemma has spent the past four years working in data consulting and social research alongside completing her studies at the Australian National University (ANU).

Throughout this time she worked on ground-breaking social research projects, such as The Australian Child Maltreatment Survey, as an interviewer and data analyst. She has also worked closely with not-for-profit organisations (NFPs) and large government departments to help them improve their relationships with stakeholders and staff. Jemma is passionate about social justice, community health and climate change policy.

Influential work

  • Managed the development of a new fundraising and marketing strategy for the National Foundation for Australian Women
  • Worked as a lead interviewer for The Australian Child Maltreatment Survey, the first Australian study on the prevalence of child maltreatment, and the National Community Attitudes Towards Violence Against Women survey
  • Hosts the podcast The Psychology of your 20's, one of Australia's top educational podcasts in 2021
  • Supported the development and implementation of a comprehensive staff survey as part of an independent commission into inappropriate behaviour at Ambulance Victoria
  • Co-edited the ANU’s first female-only publication, Bossy Magazine.

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous, Jemma worked as a researcher and data officer at Orima Research. She was also an interviewer at the Social Research Centre and volunteered for an NFP aiming to end sexual violence on Australian university campuses. Alongside this, Jemma runs a podcast called 'The Psychology of your 20's'.

In her spare time...

In her free time, Jemma loves to record new podcast episodes, go on hikes around Sydney and can often be found out swimming at Coogee beach.
