Milly Bell

• Managed a large-scale review of a state government regional economic development agency, articulating an exciting vision of modern regional economic development and recommending a practical pathway to achieve it
• Developed a comprehensive model that broke new ground in making the case for flexible work practices by calculating the return-on-investment in flexible work practices for three different organisations
• Managed the development of a new government strategy for emergency recovery that put people and their experiences at the centre and positioned the sector to thrive in a world of more frequent and devastating emergencies
• Supported a natural resources regulator to develop a more modern, principles-based approach to its role, including developing a new regulatory strategy and organisation design.

Milly’s background is in economic policy, including industry regulation and support, regional development and competition and consumer policy. Prior to joining Nous she worked in economic policy at the New South Wales Department of Premier and Cabinet and before that in economic strategy for the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

Milly holds a Bachelor of Arts (economics) and a Bachelor of Commerce (marketing) from the University of Otago in New Zealand.

Milly is a keen surfer, scuba diver and ocean swimmer and passionate about turning the tide on ocean plastic pollution. She has recently taken up golf and is (mostly) enjoying the challenge.
