Sam is an experienced manager in Nous’ WA business and leads work in human-centred design, digital and data strategy.
He is expert at connecting, communicating, and designing with staff and stakeholders across all areas, and adeptly connects technical and non-technical, strategic and operational perspectives into cohesive, implementable solutions. Sam has extensive experience running complex projects and building strong buy-in with leaders, staff and users across multiple sectors, for organisations of all sizes at local, state and national levels.

Influential work

  • Led user experience and digital design of a new national ‘Tell Us Once’ solution for data collection and use in emergency management
  • Developed a new data and information management strategy for WA Police Force
  • Led the design of a new 10-year digital and data strategy for the WA TAFE system
  • Developed a detailed operating model for a new multimillion-dollar multidisciplinary health hub in the east of Perth
  • Developed a new Stakeholder Engagement Framework and toolkit for the WA Primary Health Alliance
  • Ran a series of intensive design sprints with multiple Local Government authorities across the Perth Metro Area, building better approvals processes for local businesses
  • Led development of a new approach to information management for the WA Country Health Service

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Sam worked at the WA Department of the Premier and Cabinet, in the Office of Digital Government, managing a complex array of stakeholder relationships across state and Commonwealth agencies. He supported the rollout of the WA public sector’s first Digital Strategy, and led development of the first WA Government Information Classification Policy. He also supported review and finalisation of cabinet and budget submissions with agencies across the WA public sector. 

In his spare time...

Outside of work, Sam's passions include photography, 3D design and manufacturing, drawing and painting, restoring old guitars, and spending time with his wife and young daughter.
