Sarah Harriss

Sarah uses robust structured analysis to identify opportunities to further strategic objectives.

With more than seven years of experience working in Defence and Australia’s national intelligence community, she enjoys tackling complex problems and grappling with uncertainty. Sarah has strong communication skills and is experienced in articulating challenges and solutions to enable effective and innovative strategic decision-making.

Influential work

  • Managed the design and implementation of a strategic engagement survey to inform a foundational review of organisational impact
  • Worked with Australian Government agencies to provide strategic guidance to align and enhance international engagement
  • Led numerous small teams providing strategic analysis directly to Australian ministers, departments, and the Australian Defence Force
  • Worked flexibly across a range of legal practice areas.

Outside of Nous

Prior to Nous, Sarah worked as an analyst and analytic manager for the Department of Defence. While at university she gained experience working as a paralegal in government and the private sector. Outside of work, Sarah has volunteered for Lifeline.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University. She is currently undertaking her Master of Laws, focusing on international law.

In her spare time...

Sarah loves cooking (and eating) and attempting to offset this by trying out new physical challenges. She is also always interested in new book recommendations.
