Shanthi works with clients to develop and execute strategies to shape policy and deliver sustainable services.
She has more than 20 years of experience working in senior policy roles in government, not-for-profit organisations, peak bodies and universities. Having worked in the Pilbara for several years, Shanthi is experienced in engaging with local communities to co-design strategies and programs.
Influential work
- Led development of an evaluation framework for nutrition and physical activity programs across the National Heart Foundation of Australia
- Led development of a nursing and midwifery issues paper to inform Australia’s Primary Health Care 10 Year Plan
- Developed a strategy to increase engagement with an annual health workforce survey that provided meaningful data to inform government policy
- Developed and advocated for workforce policy and program solutions at the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association, which were adopted by government
- Managed large-scale programs in the Victorian Department of Health, National Heart Foundation of Australia and with local communities in the Pilbara.
Outside of Nous
Shanthi received a Dean’s Commendation Award from Monash Business School in 2017. She is a frequent volunteer and has served on committees for the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), Nutrition Australia and The Avenue Children’s Centre.
