He previously worked in the public sector developing statistical modelling to support project analysis, decision making and policy design, most recently with the Department of Treasury in Western Australia, where he worked on projects across transport, health, education and social services. As a consulting engineer, he specialised in construction staging design and non-linear analysis. He has developed strategies for the continual improvement of technical capabilities and innovation.
Steve studied science and engineering at UWA and attained his doctorate in computational mechanics in 2007. He went on to work as a design engineer for more than a decade, specialising in unconventional and non-linear analysis.
Steve has since gained broad experience in the public sector, leading the delivery of innovative modelling to support data-based decision making and policy design across sectors including transport, health, education, and social services.
Steve is a keen (but rusty) triathlete and enjoys playing footy with his local masters football club.
