Michele is a highly effective leader with a track record of success in senior operational and corporate roles.
She is also a storyteller, skilled in using creative approaches to expand influence and engage support. This combination of operational and creative skills makes Michele an impactful advisor and leader. As someone who has ‘been there’, Michele brings clarity and insight to her role as expert advisor to clients in Australia, the UK and Canada. Michele leads Nous’ environment subsector practice group.

Influential work

  • Led the development of strategies and policy approaches for the Australian Department of Agriculture Water and Environment, Department of Planning and Environment NSW and Crown Lands NSW, engaging with leaders, stakeholders and teams to build support and clarify strategic direction
  • Supported Parks Australia through complex multi-stakeholder engagement and implementation planning for the handover of Jabiru, a former mining town in the Northern Territory, to its Traditional Owners
  • Provided expert facilitation and leadership development to emerging and senior leaders in Australian and state government departments
  • Developed techniques for teams who perform in high-pressure environments to shift workplace culture to be more supportive and operationally effective, in fields as diverse as crime prevention, financial regulation and emergency services
  • Worked with the Nous video team to produce and direct engaging video content for public service organisations, universities and peak bodies.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Michele was Head of Supply Chain for Oil Search and a member of its field leadership team in the Southern Highlands of Papua New Guinea. Her prior oil and gas experience includes international team leader roles with British Petroleum and Bechtel.

Michele holds master’s degrees in business and foreign affairs from Georgetown University, and a diploma in project management. Her creative qualifications include a certificate in content creation from the Australian Film Television and Radio School and a producer’s certificate from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Michele enjoys hiking, travelling and adventure, and appreciates the diverse cultural offerings of Canberra and Sydney.
