Matthew Song

Consultant

Matthew brings previous management consulting and leadership experience to Nous.

With a background in law and finance, he has also had experience in a variety of fields such as audit, tax, banking, legal advocacy and education. His breadth of experience is complemented by his analytical approach to problem-solving, interpersonal skills and overall business acumen.

Influential work

Led the development of fundraising, recruitment and partnerships strategy plans for social enterprises in social and environmental fields
Drafted several research pieces on the prevalence and effects of the death penalty in several Asian countries
Was involved in the processing of more than $1 million in loans for NAB’s Business Banking team
Organised and hosted Australian Law Students Association-award winning student career development events as part of the Monash Law Students’ Society (LSS).

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous, Matthew has had a considerable amount of private sector experience. He was previously involved in the preparation and review of tax matters of various multinational corporations as part of PwC’s Corporate and Employment Taxes teams. He was also an intern in KPMG’s Audit team and a member of NAB’s Business Banking division.

Matthew also has a background in pro-bono consulting, having been involved as a Team Leader and Project Consultant for 180 Degrees Consulting. During his study of law and commerce at Monash University he was involved in the Monash LSS and Law Clinics.

In his spare time...

Matthew is an avid fan of soccer and basketball, supporting Manchester United and the Lakers. He also enjoys travelling, spending time with friends and family and a good cup of coffee.
