Shakeel supports clients to achieve their goals in public policy, economics and development.
Through his voluntary work and studies, he has had international experience that has contributed to his strong understanding of cultural nuances and his ability to adjust to new environments. Holding a master’s degree in development studies from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Surrey, he has worked in investment banks, start-ups and a think tank.

Influential work

  • Helped establish Young Minds Matter, a campaign based in Luton to raise awareness of mental health issues faced by young people and provide them with the tools to manage their mental health
  • Worked with four entrepreneurs to remodel and develop their businesses as a volunteer business mentor for social enterprise Balloon Ventures, based in Uganda.

Outside of Nous

In Uganda, Shakeel volunteered for a social enterprise, supporting entrepreneurs to shape their business strategy and obtain start-up capital. He has interned at large investment banks and an economics think tank. He has also learned Arabic in Jordan and travelled in Southeast Asia.

In his spare time...

Shakeel enjoys travelling, learning languages, boxing, reading about international development and reading historical fiction.
