ShowNet integrates sports event management and live video streaming to provide youth and aspiring athletes with a platform to stand on and shine.
The journey to an emerging venture’s success is never clear
After establishing a successful business in the $US10 billion equestrian show industry, ShowNet recognised its offer could be adapted to other sports and event formats. Having established prototype opportunities in several sectors, ShowNet sought a clear strategy for executing on the concept and scaling its business.
Forging a path took agility with a good dose of rigour
There were many uncertainties involved and untangling them required a multifaceted approach: Nous visited the operations in action in the US and conducted rigorous market research and financial modelling. Thorough stakeholder engagement was critical: we worked with ShowNet to develop a commercialisation strategy and business model that would give ShowNet a compelling case for investors and creditors to fund its expansion.
An open mind led to a range of mutually reinforcing futures
ShowNet raised capital through a US credit facility based on Nous’ preliminary research and insights, and negotiations were underway for significantly more capital at the project’s conclusion. The credit facility provided important working capital and confidence to immediately expand ShowNet’s offering.
Nous’ engagement and analysis also significantly strengthened ShowNet’s position in a potential partnership with a global sports content distribution network to further cement ShowNet’s market position.
