Alex is a critical thinker with a deep interest in health and human services.
She brings over six years of clinical experience to this role, having previously worked in tertiary hospital settings across Melbourne and the UK. Alex works across Nous’ public policy and strategy work, combining clinical and consulting lenses to enhance service delivery, organisational performance and person-centred outcomes.

Influential work

  • Engaged by a metropolitan health service to comprehensively review its emergency services’ operational and clinical governance performance
  • Supported the development of a new statewide mental health service and capital plan
  • Supported a community housing provider to develop a strategic positioning piece to identify partnership building opportunities and optimal avenues for investment aligned with government and community priorities
  • Supported the design and implementation of a new clinical electronic documentation system
  • Presented on several panels on the experience of working as a key member of an intensive care unit’s (ICU) COVID-19 clinical team.

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous, Alex worked as a speech pathologist in tertiary hospitals across Melbourne and the UK’s National Health Service. She has clinical experience across the healthcare continuum, most recently having worked on the COVID-19 response, in a clinical capacity in the ICU and on wards and supporting the establishment of Victoria’s first drive-through testing site. She also brings experience in the implementation of digital health systems, including electronic medical records and telehealth models.

Outside of Alex’s professional experience, she enjoys engaging in community volunteering, with a particular focus on food insecurity and children in sport. She completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Master of Speech Pathology at La Trobe University in 2016 and returned the following year to present at the university’s careers event.

Alex is a keen traveller, loves watching the Dees at the ‘G, attends weekly pottery classes and tries to see as many musicals as possible.
