Bonnie works with government and not-for-profit clients on strategy, policy, funding and impact challenges with a view to maximising positive influence.
Her work focuses on embedding sustainability, improving environmental outcomes, and supporting Australia’s transition to net zero.

Influential work

  • Developed a strategic narrative on the policy and regulatory opportunities of Australia’s transition to net zero for a national energy regulator
  • Designed a strategy and evaluation framework for an influential philanthropic foundation focused on sustainability
  • Improved ways of working and organisational processes to support a government agency to achieve environmental outcomes
  • Designed a new delivery model and sourcing strategy for a utility that prioritised environment, community and customer impacts
  • Embedded integrated planning tools in a large government department to support complex policy work that spanned teams and policy areas.

Outside of Nous

Prior to Nous, Bonnie worked at a not-for-profit start-up that funds public interest journalism across Australia, Asia and the Pacific, designing the inaugural strategy and an outcomes framework, initiating new partnership opportunities, and leading the day-to-day management of a multimillion-dollar portfolio of programs.

Prior to this, Bonnie was a research fellow and public commentator at the Lowy Institute, an independent foreign policy think tank. Bonnie co-authored two flagship indices to measure diplomatic and geopolitical power and briefed senior policymakers at foreign and defence ministries across Australia, Asia and the United States on big picture policy ideas.

Bonnie has written op-eds and provided commentary for the Australian Financial Review, The Australian, Foreign Affairs, Financial Times and The Diplomat. Bonnie was named one of 10 Next Generation Leaders by the University of Sydney’s United States Studies Centre and one of 25 Young Women to Watch by Young Australians in International Affairs.

In her spare time...

Bonnie enjoys getting her nature fix from coastal runs and exploring new walks with her dog Ferdinand. She spends her weekends visiting galleries, art fairs and film festivals, watching documentaries and cooking.
