Ed uses human-centred design to understand behaviours, solve complex problems and uncover quality opportunities.

Over his career he has designed products, services, digital experiences, strategies and processes that help transform governments, banks, retailers, educators, utilities and not-for-profits organisations. He has also held leadership roles in design agencies, fostering high-performing teams through a creative culture alongside efficient practices to deliver top-quality outcomes. Ed is driven by helping organisations to identify and implement solutions that are environmentally sustainable, socially equitable and inclusive, and economically productive. 

Influential work

  • Partnered with New Zealand bank ASB to design and deliver transformative banking experiences, including reimagining home lending, banking for 18-24 year olds, broker experiences, and other digital and service experiences, while developing design capability across the organisation 
  • Delivered a world-class digital and service experience for start-up life insurer Integrity Life that delivered a tailored experience for life insurance brokers to give them the tools to create an outstanding experience for their customers  
  • Developed an experience strategy and service catalogue to kickstart Service NSW’s digital transformation, laying the foundations for human-centred design (HCD) practices, consistent digital frameworks, and unpacking how to offer services including digital licenses 
  • Created the customer strategy for Sydney Water's transformation, and implemented a customer experience (CX) measurement proof of concept, leveraging HCD practices and partnering with the customer team, frontline operational teams and contact centre teams. 

Outside of Nous

Ed previously spent three years in New Zealand with DNA design. In New Zealand he worked with fantastic, ambitious organisations and also experienced the great outdoors and nature that abounds. Earlier he was at the Customer Experience Company, working on gnarly strategic problems with a human-centred approach. 

In his spare time...

In his spare time he can be found in the great outdoors, running a long way (sometimes quickly), riding bikes, and tramping (bush walking) off the beaten track.
