He specialises in supporting teams to navigate ambiguity and turn a strategy into reality. He combines a highly analytical and structured problem solving with a collaborative approach and engaging communication. 

Influential work

  • Led stakeholder engagement and insights reporting to form an industry development strategy to aid the Victorian Government's commitment to a $50 billion offshore wind renewable energy program 
  • Project managed the establishment of a digital shared-services hub for the University of Alberta (Canada) to contribute to the universities $120 million budget reduction after COVID-19 
  • Developed a comprehensive digital education strategy for the University of Edinburgh to guide adoption of new products and services to enhance a hybrid student experience 
  • Led the financial and demand modelling to support two successful business cases for Court Services Victoria to seek Victorian government funds to build new justice precincts in Bendigo and Wyndham 
  • Built a state-wide demand model for Victorian family violence court hearings and developed a victim-centred service model that incorporated new remote and digital services to improve justice outcomes in the Magistrates Court. 

Outside of Nous

Hamish has a diverse work history in Australia and overseas. He started his career in commercial roles in the banking and energy sectors and technical roles in resource exploration. He previously worked in corporate partnerships for a not-for-profit that campaigned to reduce social violence in Australia. 

Hamish holds a Master of Science (Earth Science), a Graduate Diploma of Science (Geology) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics) from the University of Melbourne. 

In his spare time...

Hamish enjoys hockey and ocean swimming; growing up in Perth he is also fond of the beach, the outdoors and the Fremantle Dockers.
