Jack Marozzi headshot
Jack is a health data and policy evaluation ‘pracademic’. He combines doctoral studies in applied biostatistics and epidemiology with experience with multi-stakeholder engagement, trauma-informed co-design and health policy evaluation and development.
Jack brings creative solutions to data quality issues to deliver robust insights, drawing on his extensive experience working with health data from across government, primary health networks (PHNs) and insurers. Jack has specialist expertise in causal inference quasi-experimental evaluation design, mental health and suicide prevention, and service planning, commissioning and integration.

Influential work

  • Led evaluations of health policies and programs, including mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention services, state government sexual health services, and national pilot programs in wound management and integrated movement disorder care
  • Worked with PHNs to develop business strategies; commissioning and performance management frameworks; integrated service models; needs analysis; and mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and suicide prevention plans
  • Led population-based demand modelling and gap analysis for a statewide mental health and wellbeing service plans
  • Led the co-design of an intake, assessment and referral service model and the optimisation of call centre operations
  • Developed value-based health care and mental health strategies for governments and a large public insurer.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Jack held a variety of health policy and evaluation roles in the Victorian Government, particularly in the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Prior to this, he held a management consulting position at McKinsey & Company and policy roles at the Grattan Institute and the Parliament of Victoria.

Jack is undertaking a PhD in Applied Biostatistics and Epidemiology, focusing on causal inference using linked administrative health data (including data from hospitals, the Medicare Benefits Schedule, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, and births, deaths and marriages). Jack holds a Master of Health Data Science from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in political science and public policy from the University of Melbourne.

In his spare time...

Jack enjoys dancing – particularly hip hop and reggaeton – and has won national titles. He loves travelling, learning languages and running.
