Jessica Kagal headshot
Jessica is passionate about inspiring positive changes through collaboration, data, creativity and critical analysis.
With experience in both provincial and federal level healthcare organizations and other not-for-profit organizations, she understands the value of evaluation, leadership, interpersonal relationships and advocacy. Jessica also brings years of experience working directly with children and young adults with special needs.

Influential work

  • Spearheaded the implementation and re-design of evaluation modules to educate staff at a Pan-Canadian Health Organization (PCHO) and promote the importance of evaluation
  • Conducted and evaluated a campus-wide research study concerning students’ struggles with mental health and addictions to advocate for new campus policies and more resources
  • Led, supervised, and trained International Peer Guides at Western University during intensive and interactive training sessions that included diversity, equity and inclusion content
  • Recruited more than 20 physicians to use a novel software that would allow for more efficient patient referrals and reduce long wait times and redundant work.

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous, Jessica was an intern on a PCHO’s evaluation team. There, she conducted evaluations and worked on strategies for various projects.

During her time at the University of Western Ontario studying a Bachelor of Science (Honours in psychology) and a Master of Clinical Sciences: Applied Health Science), she was an International Peer Guide and a mentor for incoming students. Jessica has worked directly with children and young adults with special needs and their families for many years and is a certified lifeguard and swim instructor.

In her spare time...

Jessica enjoys the outdoors, exploring new Toronto neighbourhoods, hot yoga, and walking with her Golden Retriever. An enthusiastic traveller, she is passionate about exploring new countries and learning about cultures.
