Katarina is an enthusiastic and driven professional with a diverse background and interests and over 14 years of experience working across higher education, community and sport sectors.
She is a qualified economist with master’s degrees in business and international relations and an effective program, project and people leader. Katarina is naturally curious, with advanced research skills; and is always looking for answers beyond the “what”, ‘who”, “when” and “where”, exploring the full context and the “how” and “why” angles. She is a forward-thinking, future-oriented, big-picture innovator with strong ethical values and a commitment to a positive economic, cultural, environmental and social impact.

Influential work

  • Led the University of Western Australia’s (UWA) Work Integrated Learning Program aimed at improving students’ employability outcomes
  • Led a program support services team tasked with operational framework transformation, ensuring effective and quality assured delivery of a multi-award-winning (AAUT, AFR) Professional and Community Engagement Program at Macquarie University
  • Co-led a re-design and optimisation of fundamental program business processes and their operating model, coupled with a customer relationship management technology implementation delivering a unique-to-sector solution that ensures effective relationship management and engagement with 3500+ industry and community partners and 8000+ students each year
  • Devised and implemented strategy, framework and resources for stakeholder engagement, program risk assessment and management, reporting and data collection and integrity and communications.

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous, Katarina spent over a decade in the higher education sector working with Macquarie University and UWA. Moreover, she has had a parallel career in the recreational and high-performance sport sectors, being a former elite athlete before transitioning into coaching, officiating and mentoring. Katarina established and ran a not-for-profit sporting club in Sydney and served as Vice-President and a Board Member of Artistic Swimming Australia, the sport’s national body.

Katarina holds Masters of International Business and of International Relations from Macquarie University, and a Bachelor of Economics, (international relations) from the University of Economics, Bratislava, Slovakia.

In his spare time...

Katarina loves spending time exploring natural, cultural and scientific wonders with her young family; or being immersed in a book, lost in her garden or having a laugh with friends.
