Matt is an experienced strategy and public policy manager, working across the health, human services and education sectors.
He is passionate about applying his legal, economic and public policy knowledge to create better outcomes for Australians. Matt is known for his strong critical thinking, collaborative work style and ability to navigate sensitive stakeholder environments.

Influential work

  • Managed the review of state-wide domestic and family violence responses to deliver enhanced support for victim-survivors in crisis
  • Managed the design and development of national standards to guide delivery of community-based mental health services across Australia
  • Supported the review of a national homelessness program through consultations with peak bodies, academics, government and vulnerable young people with lived experience across Australia
  • Undertook a feasibility analysis, including national consultations and cost modelling, to inform the design and development of child safety and wellbeing initiatives across Australia
  • Supported the merger of two peak industry peak bodies through nationwide consultations to deliver enhanced advocacy and services.

Outside of Nous

Prior to Nous, Matt studied a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Business Management (Business Economics) at the University of Queensland. He has previous experience working as a director for a not-for-profit organisation, and as secretary of a student society. Matt grew his passion for supporting vulnerable Australians while at university through his work at a pro bono legal clinic.

In his spare time...

Matt enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying out new sourdough recipes and playing Catan. He can also often be found attempting to surf.
