Steven works with organisations and communities to develop responsive evidence-based strategies, organisations and solutions.
He specialises in co-designing strategies, action plans and service models with stakeholders in education, human services and healthcare. He is passionate about partnering with priority populations to develop solutions that reflects their needs and lived experience. He is a founding member and leader of Nous’ pride network, Nous Proud.

Influential work

  • Designed the service and operating models for the Cancer Council’s flagship 13 11 20 information and support service to improve national consistency and quality
  • Co-designed the first National Action Plan for health and wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ people through engagement with more than 300 LGBTIQA+ people and allies, including people with intersectional identities and experiences
  • Designed a home-based care and support programs for veterans to meet the needs of stakeholders and align with other care and support programs
  • Managed the design and strategy and supported early implementation for a new regional campus for a university that meets the region’s future skill and research needs
  • Worked with a university to develop financial scenarios to enable a strategic response to sector changes and reforms.

Outside of Nous

Steven worked for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Hong Kong as a consul, managing client and corporate services. His role included contingency planning and crisis response. In 2015 he was deployed to Nepal to lead a team assisting Australians stranded by the 2015 Nepal earthquake. Prior to his posting to Hong Kong, Steven worked in corporate roles in Canberra and Tarawa, Kiribati.

In his spare time...

Steven loves the beach, travel, outdoors and reading crime thrillers and dystopian fiction.
