Peter has leadership and consulting experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors at executive and board level. He brings a breadth of perspective, challenge and insight that he deploys effectively in consulting assignments.

Peter has significant regulatory expertise drawn from experience that includes leading an innovation team within the UK's Better Regulation Executive, and as executive director of party and election finance. He is part of the leadership team of the London office, driving the growth and influence of Nous Group in the UK.

Influential work

  • Worked with the leadership team of a £5 billion capital project, spanning an executive agency and three-member joint-venture, to develop an organisation ready for 2020 and beyond
  • Worked with the executive team of the British Heart Foundation to evolve their organisational approach to deliver the organisation’s new strategy
  • Led the development of an operating model for the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts, a global professional membership organisation; working closely with chief executive officer (CEO) and executive team to deliver successful transformation
  • As director at the Electoral Commission, led complex negotiations to influence government to deliver a proportionate and effective new regulatory regime
  • Worked with the chief information officer (CIO) and team of NATS, the UK’s air traffic controller, to develop a new operating model for the CIO function.

Outside of Nous

Peter started his career with five years in supply chain management with Unilever, working in both operational and head office roles. He subsequently became a senior civil servant in the UK’s Cabinet Office and Department for Business.

Peter also spent five years as a consultant working independently and with an expert organisation design consultancy. His clients included the Football Association, the Home Office, the Financial Conduct Authority, the British Heart Foundation, HS2, Centrica and a leading Asset Management firm. Peter has served as a charity trustee with Getting on Board for six years and the Lightyear Foundation for five.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science (physics and French) from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom and l'Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Toulouse (INSA). He is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and speaks fluent French.

In his spare time...

Peter is a run director of his local parkrun and can be found there with his family every Saturday morning.
