Axel Putt headshot
With an accounting background, Axel brings experience in demand modelling, quantitative analysis and business case development for government.
He has built and supported complex financial and cost models, including cash flow models that vary assumptions and run scenario analysis, across the health, community services and infrastructure sectors. Axel takes a structured, collaborative and evidence-based approach to testing analysis outputs and translating them into insights that inform funding and investment decisions.

Influential work

  • Secured funding for critical Commonwealth infrastructure through a detailed business case, supporting passenger demand forecasting and Monte Carlo cost modelling
  • Supported a government agency in enhancing its capacity to better serve at-risk populations via business case submission to Treasury
  • Developed a business case for an elderly services marketplace, modelling service uptake through a contagion model, identifying key drivers of adoption under varying assumptions to predict market penetration and scaling requirements
  • Led quantitative analysis of placement demand, utilisation, system demographic profiles, and costs for the WA Department of Communities' Out of Home Care reform, helping to develop evidence-based recommendations informing funding requirements and improved program outcomes
  • Led quantitative analysis of screening demand across metropolitan and regional areas and modelled high-level costings to project shortfalls and surpluses
  • Modelled on-site solar generation potential for a national cultural institution, evaluating against alternatives including Power Purchasing Agreements to optimise phasing out of gas usage, and analysing CO2 reduction outcomes and financial payback periods
