Callum is an expert in public policy, defence and security, and political economy.
With experience delivering results for clients and stakeholders in government and non-government organisations, he has worked in international affairs, human rights, democracy and elections, as well as local and state government. Callum excels in political and economic analysis, research and evaluation, and policy design and implementation, demonstrating adeptness in multi-stakeholder engagement.

Influential work

  • Authored a report on electoral reform subsequently used in parliamentary debates on changes to the electoral system for Western Australia’s Legislative Council
  • Drafted and implemented local government policies based on legislative changes and council decisions, including those pertaining to child safety, Indigenous affairs, fiscal handling and governance operations
  • Created an operational plan for a non-government organisation to incorporate human rights metrics in investment decisions
  • Written and published political reports on domestic and international affairs.

Outside of Nous

Callum previously worked at the Shire of Derby-West Kimberley, where he provided expert advice to enhance its risk, governance and compliance framework. He also gained experience at various think-tanks and governmental organisations, focusing on international affairs, democracy and elections, and human rights.

Beyond Australia, Callum has studied in Spain, New Zealand, Indonesia, and China, receiving various scholarships to support these educational experiences.

Callum has been recognised with several awards for academic excellence, including the Law School Prize for Indigenous Peoples and the Law (highest grade in subject) and the Gordon S. Reid Prize in Parliamentary Politics (highest grade in subject).

Callum loves travelling internationally and experiencing different cultures. He is also an avid reader of politics, history and classical literature.
