Johnny brings strong experience in economic modelling, policy evaluation and quantitative analysis across government, infrastructure, education, and health contexts.
He has developed cost, workforce, supply-demand and cost-benefit models to support decisions on agency design, funding, workforce incentives, market strategy, and major investments. He helps test the demand, workforce, and economic assumptions underpinning investment cases, and ensures that complex data is translated into clear evidence about viability, risk and implementation.
Influential work
- Developed cost models estimating transition and ongoing costs, staffing profiles, and four-year financial impacts for a Commonwealth integrity agency, supporting comparative analysis and informed decisions on agency structure and resourcing
- Led cost-benefit modelling for a multi-agency child protection initiative to support high-level funding decisions, developing the CBA model, integrating programme costs, activity data, and linked outcomes to assess economic impact
- Built a driver-based labour forecasting model for a large Australian mining company, working with the people function to identify labour demand drivers and translate them into a practical forecasting tool
- Developed a supply and demand model for carbon storage to inform Commonwealth policy strategy, integrating market analysis and stakeholder input to assess carbon credit pricing, storage capacity, and regulatory incentives
- Contributed to an independent review of HELP debt remission and indexation-waiver initiatives for teaching, medical, and nursing professionals in remote and regional communities, supporting the analytic framework, consultations, and data analysis, including a survey of 311 programme participants and review of administrative data
- Supported NSW government agencies to assess major capital investments and recurrent expenditure programmes, quantifying economic, social and fiscal impacts and applying Treasury guidelines
Outside of Nous
Johnny was previously an economist in the NSW Productivity and Equality Commission where he was core to the Commission's Achieving Net Zero series. He has also spent time as a consultant at Accenture where he worked across several key industries including defence, logistics, and marketing.
Johnny holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Advanced Studies in Economics and Finance from the University of Sydney.

Johnny is an avid bushwalker with a love for finding hidden waterfalls. He is also passionate about technology and enjoys building computers.
Johnny has a cavoodle named Ollie who will often be lounging around while he works from home.
