She is a senior consultant with experience delivering M&A, strategy, and transformation projects that unlock growth for clients across the education, government and third sectors. She is particularly interested in how data and emerging technology can be applied practically within education and public services to support better decision-making and deliver lasting positive benefit to society.

- Managed a people strategy for a public sector arm’s-length body employing more than 3,000 public servants, leading organisation-wide stakeholder engagement, interviews with senior team members, and workshops
- Led service design for a Russell Group university to co-develop new functions and processes for centralised operating model to support a large-scale university transformation. Independently modelled FTE requirements in Excel, delivering efficiency savings of 5-10 per cent
- Co-designed sustainable funding model with a global university's senior team, balancing departmental autonomy with scalability to support a global leading university seeking to grow its online offering
- Led international market entry strategy for post-92 institution, delivering 10 per cent year-on-year growth, through targeted local expansion in international markets primed for growth, involving extensive benchmarking analysis in R
- Led stakeholder interviews, macroeconomic analysis and market sizing for an Education Reform NGO to inform new market entry recommendations for a 2030 strategy
Outside of Nous
After graduating from Oxford, Lydia began her career in teaching as a secondary school teacher with the Teach First Development Programme. She then joined Cairneagle, a London-based leading strategy consulting firm focussed on the education sector. She feels passionately about supporting social mobility, and the power of education to transform lives. Outside work, she volunteers with Zero Gravity, a social mobility charity aimed at widening access to top universities and jobs.
In her spare time...
In her free time, Lydia enjoys visiting art galleries, trying out new recipes, running, and exploring the UK in her new (to her) 1990s VW camper.
