Influential work

  • Supported a university’s professional services transformation through analysing UniForum benchmarking datasets to identify cost-saving opportunities and develop a paper for the University Council to endorse a program to improve efficiency in high-cost functions
  • Optimised the NSW Workers Compensation operating model and organisation structure through conducting more than 75 stakeholder engagements, including organisation-wide workshops and executive leadership team focus groups, leading to a report outlining 19 recommendations, a strategic planning cycle strategy and a framework to prioritise improvement projects
  • Developed a commercial strategy for a market-leading vocational education and training (VET) provider by analysing NCVER data to evaluate the size and attractiveness of the international B2C and bespoke B2B markets.
  • Co-designed a strategic plan for a leading industry superfund, including facilitating a workshop to design the fund’s retirement strategy, identifying opportunities to advocate for policy reform
  • Developed a data strategy and dashboard for a federal skills organisation to perform workforce gap analysis on three human services sub-sectors, including writing R scripts to transform public and proprietary datasets, and developing a service demand model to enable high-stakes decision-making.

Outside of Nous

Max has undertaken internships at River Capital, Deloitte and Rampersand, and co-founded the Social Impact Investment Fund (SIIF). He also worked part-time with CareNow, a community organisation, by providing financial and compliance counsel.

Max holds a Bachelor of Commerce (finance and accounting) and a Diploma in Computing from The University of Melbourne.

In his spare time...

Max enjoys playing or watching AFL, golf and soccer; travelling, especially road-tripping; playing chess; and listening to podcasts – anything from comedy to investing.
