William Patterson
William integrates analytical and interpersonal skills to holistically understand problems.
With four years of experience working on teams to promote personal and professional growth in hundreds of youths across Canada, and a Bachelor of Knowledge Integration (Honours) from the University of Waterloo, he thrives in environments full of uncertainty and potential. He has so far specialized in designing and implementing transformative educational experiences with Shad Canada and at St. Jerome's University.

Influential work

  • Built community and leadership at Shad Canada, mentoring teams through design challenges and planning events to boost community engagement and growth
  • Led eight-person teams to learn how to tackle complex problems and create an environment conducive to effective collaboration
  • Piloted a 1:1 check-in system at St. Jerome’s University, which would be implemented to ensure the wellness of residents
  • Created and ran a psychological safety workshop for his Don team, collecting and analyzing data during the year to improve team dynamics

Outside of Nous

Prior to Nous, William studied full time in Knowledge Integration, an interdisciplinary degree at the University of Waterloo while working as a don to support over 400 students per year through their transitions into and through university.

He has also spent three summers working at Shad Canada campuses at York University, UBC, and Mount Allison University, contributing to transformational leadership and academic growth  more than 150 participants.

In his spare time...

In his free time, William enjoys all type of sports, recently completing an Ironman 70.3. As well, he loves building community, discussing philosophy, and learning about almost anything.
