Anna Doherty headshot
Anna is a public policy professional with experience in policy development, program evaluation and reviews, data and organisational strategy and service re-design.
She has worked in both Australia and the United States in government, not-for-profits and think tanks, and excels at establishing effective partnerships with both public and private sector organisations. Her experience covers a range of policy areas, including environmental management, health and aged care, social services and emergency management.

Influential work

  • Led an implementation evaluation of Australia’s overarching strategy to improve the health and resilience of the Great Barrier Reef
  • Led a process, outcome and economic evaluation of a cost-shared investment by the Australian and state governments to improve palliative care in residential aged care
  • Designed and managed a process and outcome evaluation of a national program to build community resilience under the Future Drought Fund
  • Led and managed reviews of government entities that support critical sectors in Australia, including utilities and emergency management
  • Developed public policy and legislative reform options for managing marine and terrestrial environments in NSW
  • Managed a data linkage partnership between Californian government agencies and the University of California, Berkeley, to evaluate and improve uptake of public assistance programs

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous, Anna worked in public policy and evaluation in several roles, including most recently for a non-partisan think tank in California and in the NSW Government and not-for-profit sector.

Anna holds an MA from the University of Sydney, a BA (Honours) from Monash University and has studied abroad at Harvard University, the London School of Economics and Université de Lyon.

In her spare time...

Anna enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends, preferably in the Australian bush or further afield, but more often just following her toddler around local parks in Sydney.
