Influential work
- Working with multiple Australian jurisdictions to support reduction of teacher workload
- Partnered with an Australian school education department on strategy, policy reforms and evaluations across students with disability, operational excellence, and programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
- Developed an institutional strategy for a large New Zealand university and supported strategy implementation and service model/organisation design
- Led the review of a group of faith-based schools to support long-term sustainability for the community
- Supported an education department in the support provided to students with disability, and in the transition of students to post-school pathways
- Program-managed a business case assessment of the merits and challenges of creating a new university through the merger of two South Australian universities.
Outside of Nous
Tom chairs the board of Little Dreamers Australia, the country’s leading young carer organisation, supporting people aged 4 to 25 who care for family members affected by disability, illness, addiction or frail age. Tom is also the honorary treasurer of the NSW Board of Jewish Education, which delivers face-to-face education to more than 2,000 school students and their families.
Prior to joining Nous, Tom was a commercial lawyer at Allens Linklaters, and he spent a year working with the United Nations. Tom has an MBA (Distinction) from INSEAD, and a Bachelor of Commerce/Laws (Hons) from UNSW. Tom is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
In his spare time...
Tom enjoys spending time with his two young children and is a Surf Life Saving Patrol Captain at Bondi Surf Bathers’ Life Saving Club.
