International management consultancy, Nous Group, today announced the appointment of energy expert Michael Rath as a Senior Advisor in its growing Energy and Decarbonisation team.  

Joining Nous in early February, Michael brings extensive energy sector and consulting experience from his time at Deloitte and most recent role as an independent advisor to the energy and industrials sector. During his 26 years at Deloitte, Michael held a range of senior positions including Lead Partner in Energy, Resources and Industrials and Lead Partner Industrial Products and Construction.  

Nous Group CEO and Managing Principal, Tim Orton, said: “Michael has worked on some of the most substantial energy issues across Australia and the APAC region over the last two and a half decades.  

“We are delighted he is bringing his depth of expertise to Nous as we continue to grow our team and our impact at this pivotal time in the energy transition.” 

As part of Nous’ Energy and Decarbonisation team, Michael will work alongside Tim and a team of 10 Principals and Directors to help clients in the sector solve their most pressing strategic challenges. He joins Nous’ team of Senior Advisors which includes former Commissioner of the Australian Energy Market Commission Charles Popple and experienced industry and regulatory advisor Paul Kenny, who joined Nous’ Energy Advisory Council in mid-2024. In his new role, Michael will be responsible for leading and delivering future shaping projects with public and private sector clients.
