Nous is officially one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in Consulting and Professional Services, taking home a place in the small company category of Great Place to Work’s industry list for 2024.
The Best Workplaces in Consulting and Professional Services list celebrates the best workplaces in consulting, legal services, engineering, marketing and advertising, telecoms, real estate, and recruitment. It is created using anonymous feedback from employees gathered through Great Place to Work’s Trust Index survey, which asks employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety, and financial security.
Our overall score in the Great Place to Work Trust Index survey was 93 per cent, well above the certification benchmark of 65 per cent, and the Consulting and Professional Services sector average of 69 per cent.
Nous Group Principal and UK office lead Julie Mercer said: “Consulting is a high-performance industry and every day we are challenged with new and interesting problems to solve. What really sets Nous apart from other firms is our shared purpose of positive influence and how this plays out in our work and our culture.
“Delivering positive influence means we pursue projects that deliver real and lasting change and our behaviours are guided by an awareness of our impact. For our people, that translates to working on issues that matter in a highly collaborative environment.”
To ensure we are offering our people the opportunity to do interesting and fulfilling work, we are selective about the clients we work with and the projects we work on. This strategy ensures we operate in accordance with our purpose and our reasons for being, which include intellectual stimulation, energy and growth, as well as care and connection.
Our organisational incentives are also optimised for positive influence. For example, our shared bonus structure – in which all team members can opt to receive the same percentage of income as a bonus each financial year – helps ensure that we rise together as a team.
Nous Group CEO and Managing Principal Tim Orton said: “At Nous, we share in each other’s success and we are acutely aware that our people create our value.
”While our people come from diverse personal and professional backgrounds, we are aligned on purpose and the high standards we hold ourselves to – and this is essential to delivering great experiences and outcomes for our clients and colleagues alike.”
Nous is certified as a Great Place to Work in the UK and has been recognised in four best workplaces lists this year, including the UK’s best workplaces overall and the best workplaces for women.
