Social Services

People are complex and so are their needs. The solutions and supports required to address their issues need to be open, expansive, and dynamic.

As government and society’s understanding of vulnerability improves, the social services system is evolving to better identify complexity, vulnerability, and risk.  We help agencies and not-for-profit organizations address housing and homelessness, navigate the disability sector, and help the victims of domestic and family violence. We have worked extensively childhood protection and gender equality to meet the challenges facing children and families.

It is increasingly clear that improving outcomes requires a multidisciplinary, cross-sector approach. Our range of expertise and capabilities provides the necessary depth and breadth required to tackle some of society’s most intractable problems.

Our work includes

  • Housing and homelessness

Canada is facing a housing crisis, with essential shelter becoming increasingly difficult for many to attain. We lead major projects for housing agencies, not-for-profit organizations and governments to combat the growing challenge of affordability and to improve service delivery – including for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

  • Disability

The disability sector is becoming more dynamic, with increasing customer expectations and changing needs. The future depends on providers’ ability to re-design based on these changes and amid a changing policy landscape. We work with you to manage increasing consumer expectations in a more competitive, casualized and commoditized market.

  • Children and families

Certain subsets of children and families – including children of refugees, those with disabilities or young parents – are more likely to experience vulnerability, but anyone can find themselves at risk. We work in early childhood, childhood protection and gender equality to help governments and NFPs meet challenges facing vulnerable children and families.

  • Domestic and family violence

Domestic and family violence refers to violent, threatening or other behavior in an intimate relationship or other family relationship in which one person attempts to dominate or control the other. We have worked extensively with governments and NFPs to help victims access support and improve the systems that provide it.
